Summer learning jourey setting sail

Hi I am moving to a new country but I don’t know what country is it but I am feeling really nervous and but at the same time scared and sad I am feeling nervous because I have never traveled on a boat and I am feeling sad because I have to leave my house and I am feeling scared because the boat might brake and I have to travel 1000 miles away.

  2. Mōrena Mehakpreet,

I'm not sure if you remember me but I came in to your school in November last year. My name is Jordan, and alongside Cadence, I have the pleasure of blogging with you this summer. Well done for beginning your Summer Learning Journey with us; it's really exciting to see!

Thanks for completing this activity, and I have to agree; I would be feeling very scared and overwhelmed too. If the boat did break, we would have to swim, and I'm not a very confident swimmer. Are you?
I've travelled by boat six times: three times on the Interislander, and three times on the Spirit of Tasmania. The Spirit of Tasmania is a longer trip than the Interislander, it takes anywhere between 9-12 hours!
I can't imagine travelling 1000 miles by boat! That would take days, depending on the boat. If we had to travel by waka, we would both have very sore and tired arms!
What other ways do you like to travel? Do they make you feel nervous too?

    Keep up the great blogging!

    Cheers,

    Jordan

    2. Hi Jordan
I normally like to travel in cars and also remember when you came to our school.
I was also wondering who is Cadence is she also part of the summer learning journey? and do you also know how many points I have so far?

    3. Kia Ora!

Cars are a nice and reliable option this is true. Do you think you'll get your licence one day?
Cadence is a lovely lady working with us here; she's specifically based in Kootuitui but often floats around to other clusters too. Feel free to respond to her comments on your blog posts; I think you'll find she's a great person to chat to!
I've just checked your points, and noticed that you've just completed two more activities! Well done Mehakpreet! This leaves your tally so far at 22 points!

  3. Kia Ora Mehakpreet!

Another SLJ post complete! Good work! Wow, 1000 miles is a long way to go… I think I would be seasick after the first 10 miles…. I agree with you I would be very sad leaving my home. When I was at college I had to move from Wellington to Auckland. It was very sad at first but once I moved to Auckland I got to meet heaps of new people!

I’m curious, what is your favourite way to travel? My favourite would be flying. My dad is a pilot so he would take my brothers and me on lots of fun flights when we lived overseas.

I can’t wait to read more of your awesome posts!

    Cadence :)
