Summer learning journey art deco
I will give this painting a 4 star good because it is detailed and really realistic but I don't think I will give it a 5 star because it is a little weird because it is not a whole car and I don't know if those are rocks the car is in.
I wrote about if I give this picture a 1 terrible painting or a 2 pretty bad painting or 3 okay or 4 good or 5 amazing.

Mōrena Mehakpreet,
ReplyDeleteWell done on giving Tamara de Lempicka's painting a rating out of 5. I personally think that "4" is a really good rating.
I give the painting a 5/5, but that's my preference! I like it because of the sharp edges and bold colours.
I like how you described the coat on the inside of the car as "rocks"— they really do look a lot like rocks! But they're actually a crumpled version of the woman's coat.
I do believe that the background is her coat, yes. Did you know that Napier is known as the Art Deco capital of New Zealand? This is because in 1931, after they had a devastatingly huge earthquake, they had to rebuild. Meanwhile, all of the Architects graduating from University had been studying the Art Deco movement, so that's what they ended up specializing in. They all went to work on redesigning and rebuilding in Napier.
Do you enjoy art? What's your favourite form of art?
Cheers,
Jordan.
It has been awesome to see you engaging with the SLJ, Mehakpreet! Keep up the great work. Andrew is also commenting flat out. Maybe you could check out his blog and comment on each others work?
ReplyDeleteI have never seen this painting before but I really like the details and the soft colours. Such a nice contrast from the bright, felt pen drawings my girls have been working on at home over the break. I wonder what this woman was feeling while she was being painted? She has a serious look on her face.
Mr Ward.
Hello again Mehakpreet,
ReplyDeleteGreat to see another activity complete showing your hard work and effort! I love how you are using a wide range of vocabulary in your writing. “Detailed” and “realistic”. They are some brilliant words to use when describing a painting.
I’m curious, what do you think about the lady in the painting? I wonder where she is going… What are your thoughts?
Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
Cadence :)
I like how you have rated this painting. maybe you could find out about the artist who painted the picture. and i rate a four because it does look like a realistic car even though you cant completely see the car
ReplyDeleteMōrena Andrew,
DeleteYou're really impressing me, young man! I can't wait to see what Mehakpreet can find out about Tamara de Lempicka.
Keep it up!
