Homework or no homework or schools
Audience:Teachers and students
Purpose:Persuade
Should schools have homework? Yes!definitely, I’m Mehakpreet and I’m going to be telling you 5 reasons why we should have homework.  So let's get started.

Why is homework important,
It’s important because you can prepare or tests by receiving homework,completing it, getting it marked and fixing the mistakes. People who don’t pay attention and don’t do their work at school, can maybe focus more at home.

Who should do homework,
Everyone, so people don’t think it’s unfair,like someone gets homework and their friend doesn’t.  Also if only one person gets homework that person is gonna improve not anyone else, so everyone should get homework so everyone can improve.

Why we should get homework,
We should get homework because we are kept busy doing something instead of playing all the time at home.

What subjects we should get homework,
2 subjects a day so we don’t start moaning, like maybe start o with writing and move onto harder things.

Treats for people to do homework,
People could get a treat i they complete their homework so their really keen to do their homework.

So these are 5 reasons we should have homework and hopefully this persuades are teachers to give us some homework.


So for this week's writing we were asked to do a persuasive writing and decided I wanted to write about why we should have homework in schools.

Stars and night sky

Purpose:To rhyme

Stars and night sky

Stars, so nice and bright, shines like a light

 Night sky so dark, like wet bark

Sun shines just like a fire at the campsite

The moon has light and shines like the sun light

The six sisters you see them at noon and night they
shine so bright  We see the six sisters in June next to the moon

We see them high up in the sky waiting to say “hi”

Birds fly in the sky and try to say “hi”

People camp to see you and wait for the bright bright

When they see you they take out there mobile
and get prepared for a great smile 

I wrote a poem about the stars and night sky and it is based on Matariki and the six sisters and the one mother.  I used rhyme zone to help me find rhymes so it would be easier.  I learnt that there is six sisters and one mother not seven sister.

The glowing shine 

It makes us all blind

The show is all dark 

but we see all the spark

We shout with no doubt and

we blow out and we save the day

Were all surprised and we see no people

Because you all are disguised 

We see mars,stars,cars and also bars 

Were brighten at first then frightened then whiten

We see the star with taniwha all brighten and lightened

We all clap the singing is so smooth

It makes me wanna nap

Matariki darkens the inside 

But then we all clap with pride

For writing we go a option to write a thank you letter,poem,a report or
re write the story of the glow in the dark Matariki show. I wrote a
poem because I think it is the easiest and I like writing poems
which rhyme.

Italy

This week we picked a topic we were interested in and I picked Italy because my mums sister lives there but I have never been so I want to know more about it.  I learnt that there is so much cool places there.  I also learnt that Italy can be a bit expensive sometimes.

all about my Grandparents

Grandparents
One day lived my grandparents and they are super kind.  My grandma is super caring because she has gotten hurt lots of times but never gave up cooking and house chores.  Bust she had stilts once but she still did not give up or say “I can’t do this anymore”.  Moving onto my grandad he is learning to use a phone but he is pretty active.He goes to the library every week not read books but meet up with his friends and play cards. 

They are born in India but moved to New Zealand after my dads marriage.  But currently they are in India right now.

They went to India because we had this house it was old it had beehives,rusty paint,burnt places  and lots of other disgusting stuff.  We had that house since my dad was a child.  So we decided to rebuild it and so far it is going really good.  The house has a balcony on the roof white is called a Kotha in Indian.  It also has some designs on it I think it was shapes.  The house is also has some stairs inside and outside to get to the balcony.  We have lots of stuff but that was the stuff I knew from the pictures.

I feel super bad for them because my granddad has to sometimes get stuff for the builders.  Also my granddad hurt his arm in India and my grandma feel down.  They might not be having such a great time but they do go to marriages.  We call them nearly everyday on the phone. 

Me and my family miss them so much but luckily there coming back on Easter day.  Me and my family are really excited

That was lots about my grandparents so that is the end of this real story if you did not know. 


This is nearly all about about my grandparents.  I wrote this for free writing because I wanted to write about someone so I decided to write about my grandparents.

Blue land

Blue Land

On one blue sunny day when everything is blue like every other day. But there was a girl called Lily, this might be odd like everything else but she is the smartest girl on the planet Bloomey.  She lives with her parents, her big brother Max and her oldest sister Sera also lucky last her little sister Rose

One day they went shopping shopping and bought lots of art supplies and as you might know they are blue.  But it was Christmas in 3 weeks and they needed red and green supplies. “Mum!” yells Lily “yes honey” replies Mum “we need red supplies nut we have blue supplies like everything else” says Lily.  “Lily I think this seeing blue prank can stop” says mum. “I’m not lying I promise” says Lily “The supplies you bought are red and green, right Sera?” asks Mum. “Yea they are, is she going on about seeing everything blue again?” asks Sera “it is” cries Lily while running to her room.  Max comes running “what's all this racket? And where is dad?” asks Max. “Your dad is with Lily in her room” says Mum. “Ok” replies Max. “Sera I think we need to go to the doctor and check Lily's eyes” says Mum. “yea let's go now” replies Sera. “Mum,mum” says Rose “yes and please don’t say you need red and green supplies” says MUm “but we do their blue like everything else” says Rose.  “Get your sister and sit in the car” yells mum.

(In the car) “ Mum,mum where are we going” says Lily “to get red and green supplies,your so weird” says Rose.  “NO! We are going to the eye doctor and don’t talk to your sister like that” yells mum in anger. Lily and Rose start crying.  (At the doctors) “Can I have Lily and Rose please please” says Fhil. ‘Yes so what the problem?” asks Fhil. “We only see blue” says Lily and Rose.  “This is not funny so tell the truth” sighs Fhil. “I don’t know if this is a prank so just check their eyes” grumpily says Mum while sitting on a chair.  (After checking their eyes) “Ok I know this so we live on planet Bloomey and they imagine to see everything blue” says Fhil. “Yea carry on” says Mum “So they have blue glad wrap on their eyes” says Fhil while taking glad wrap off.  “We can see” surprisingly says Lily and Rose

For writing we had to write a narrative and I wrote a weird and crazy narrative I also learnt some vocabulary

All about me

So we had to write a story about are self with a model of a story called home and we had to write it in third person.  Which mean like it's a news report that your writing about your self but it looks like someone else is writing about you.

The village was usual enough it had

So we had to write a poem about a special place and my special place is my village in India because we have a big farm their and if your wondering whats motor it is a medium sized tub further in the farms and you could take a bath their.
